Project Details:

The assignment provided expert advisory support to ADB's Energy Transition Team on decarbonizing Türkiye's industrial sector. The work assessed the current state of Turkish industry, identified decarbonization requirements, mapped key stakeholders, and pinpointed viable projects for potential ADB participation.

The engagement delivered a country profile report covering the structure of the Turkish industrial sector (geographical distribution, industrial zones, and the split between private and state-owned enterprises), the policy and regulatory landscape for industrial decarbonization, and the decarbonization plans of major enterprises. The report also produced a longlist of bankable project proposals for the CIF Investment Plan, designed to complement parallel work by other multilateral development banks.

The assignment further delivered a stakeholder map assessing the power and interest of relevant political bodies, private and state-owned enterprises, and think tanks and NGOs active in Türkiye. Stakeholder liaison included organizing in-person and virtual meetings with selected stakeholders.
