Project Details: 

Project aims to develop a strategic framework for Yalova Organized Industrial Zone’s vision to become a leading green industrial park, including governance, economic, social and environmental components. The strategy includes a net-zero component, supported by a road-map, as well as capacity building agenda for the industrial zone management toward delivering services for circular economy and clean production.

The project was conducted in three phases. In the initial phase desk research and literature review were completed, 20 semi-structured interviews were conducted and basic hypotheses were formed. In the second phase, data collection, based on the formulated hypotheses an online survey was conducted with OIZ members. As the third phase, the Green OIZ Strategy and Roadmap were prepared by classifying and synthesizing all the findings

Delivered outputs of the project were as follows:
• Development of the "Green Transformation Vision" of Yalova Machinery OIZ and identification of long-term gains expected to be achieved through this transformation.
• Analysis of the awareness, capacity, and agendas of companies in Yalova Machinery OIZ regarding the green agenda
• Identification of the institutional and spatial requirements for the Green OIZ vision, determination of priorities, and identification of infrastructure investments to be implemented.
• Determination and development of governance structures to be implemented after the establishment of the OIZ.
• Development of compliance with the Green Deal and net zero perspective.
